Burnside High School closes due to quake risk

An abrupt closure of the South Island's largest secondary school means thousands of students are at home Thursday and Friday.

Burnside High School's Board made the call after a seismic report showed that 24 of its classrooms are 25 times more dangerous in an earthquake than a similar new building.

Board of Trustees deputy chair and chair of its property committee Chris Wallace spoke to Corin Dann.
