Student nurses say they are shocked and confused they might not be guaranteed a job when they finish studying. The nurses union says Te Whatu Ora/Health New Zealand has paused the mid-year intake into the new graduate programme, which provides student nurses with roles in the hospital system. But Te Whatu Ora says there's no pause on recruitment for graduate nurses. Earlier a third-year student nurse told Morning Report she's been left in the dark by the conflicting messages.
