Defence staff running LSV courses face severe distress from violent youth

Defence staff running a celebrated military base course have suffered serious mental distress, with some even suicidal, as they struggle to deal with violent and at-risk youth. The six-week Limited Service Volunteer course, known as LSV, has been held up by the coalition as the blueprint for its proposed boot camps. But new documents show the scheme is in trouble - and that the Defence Force has slapped down the government before for too closely linking the two programmes.
