Salary growth slows

SEEK's latest Advertised Salary Index shows the tough economic environment is beginning to bite, with diminishing growth in salaries across the motu. Overall growth was 3.7 percent in the year to August, down 0.7 percent from the last quarter. The education and healthcare sectors recorded the greatest rate of growth year-on-year, owing in large part to wage rises from collective agreements coming into effect.
