The eastern Bay of Plenty tribe, Te Whanau a Apanui, says it's now better prepared should another company come looking for oil in the Raukumara Basin off the east coast of the North Island; Members of Ngati Whatua o Orakei are being told not to expect a financial flood gate to be opened - now the Auckland sub-tribe has settled its Treaty claims; A new blood donor and laboratory centre is to be built in Christchurch in conjunction with property arm of Ngai Tahu - a move the tribe says is its latest effort to help rebuild the city; The central Bay of Plenty iwi Tuhoe is planning to build its tribal headquarters near Taneatua - and claims to be New Zealand's first ever so-called living building.
