David Kilgour is a heavyweight in New Zealand music. The singer-songwriter has been prolific with his band, The Heavy Eights, who have released 11 albums. The group has been enlisted to play the Port Noise Festival in Lyttleton in early March.
He talks to Maggie Tweedie about the unique underground event, the reissues of two records by The Clean and the eight years he’s spent digging into the band’s musical archives to make them happen.
The Clean is also the subject of a new retrospective book by Geoff Stahl, aptly titled after their EP Boodle Boodle Boodle.
