Wellington punk rock trio Hollywoodfun Downstairs recently released their second LP, Reactions. Recorded in Wellington and mastered in New York by famed studio wizard Alan Douches, the band's blistering sound has been compared to Fugazi and At the Drive In. Timing is a theme in the band's life; guitarist and vocalist Kurt Williams, and new drummer Joe Wright explain about their off-kilter time signatures and the unfortunate departure of band members, just when things are about to go international. Music 101 contributor Craig Hayes also uncovers the origins of trio's name.
