Starting out in college radio and the kinds of record stores that dedicate a whole section to kraut rock, Phil Waldorf was involved in Sub Pop subsidiary Misra, before co-founding Dead Oceans in 2007. Dirty Projectors, A Place To Bury Strangers, Phosphorescent and Akron/Family have all released material through the label.
Dead Oceans is also part of a bigger family of labels- Secretly Group. He talks with Emma Smith.
