At sixteen Matt Corby participated in the fifth season of Australian Idol, which he later described as a "big f***ing mistake". Still, he became a favourite of New Zealand audiences - his first album Telluric was hugely popular and his concerts sold out.
Now in his late twenties, he’s won multiple Aria Awards, spent a good deal of time at the top of the Aussie music charts, and is about to tour New Zealand in support of his second album Rainbow Valley - named after the five acre compound he calls home.
He speaks with Tony Stamp about being an introverted fella who’s gained a good deal of public attention, and and how having a huge vocal range can be a bit of a burden.
