Forming in 1979 and spending the early part of the eighties playing covers, Ardijah went on to have number one singles, platinum albums and shelves bulging with NZ and Pacific Music Awards.
Centred around partners Betty-Anne and Ryan Monga, Ardijah blazed a trail for Pacific-influenced funk-rock and reggae here in NZ and in Australia where the band was based for five years.
They remain active, but this recording takes us back to 1999. RNZ invited Ardijah into the Helen Young Studio to record a stripped-back session of covers and originals. So, for the first time in 20 years, here it is, Ardijah live at The Helen Young Studio in Auckland
