Forty years ago Circa Theatre's production of Side by Side by Sondheim, opened the eyes of young teenage theatre fan Michael Nicholas Williams.
Now he's Music Director for Circa's 40th anniversary production of the 1979 show which is being directed by his wife Emma Kinane.
Side by Side by Sondheim is a greatest hits album from Sondheim's Broadway hits and other gems.
Michael Nicholas Williams and Colin Taylor are on stage throughout playing two pianos, accompanying the singers Julie O'Brien, Matthew Pike and Sarah Lineham; it opens this weekend.
Eva Radich spoke to the Director and Music Director and asked Michael when his love affair with Sondheim began.
