9:07 Country Life
On Country Life this week the team meet Otago businessman Ken Algie who set up AgMatch, a web-based initiative that gives farmers who pay an annual membership fee access to lower priced farming supplies and hopefully increased returns. Staying with wool, Santanu Deb-Choudhury and his team at AgResearch have found that proteins from sheep wool fibre, added in powder form to cat food, can help improve their digestive health. This could lead to digestive health improvements for a broader range of animals, and potentially human beings.
They round off this week with a visit to Nuhaka, an East Coast town which has chess champions, it's been a base for Maori language revival, and a large apple and kiwifruit orchard there looks like it will need more than 100 hundred seasonal workers.
10:17 Lately
Lately with Karyn Hay is a late night radio show on RNZ National, with an eye on live events, an ear for music, a great sense of humour and a genuine interest in people and their stories.
11:07 The Mixtape
For the latest series of The Mixtape, RNZ Music invites guests to compile a C60 of local sounds, and talk us through their selections.
This week's RNZ Mixtape selector is Steph Brown(AKA Lips). She's half of the music direction team of new NZ film musical Daffodils and talks us through the process of picking the tracks for a feature film.
