Last year 7995 couples were granted a divorce in Aotearoa, up slightly on the 7593 couples who divorced in 2023

But while divorce has become much more common and socially acceptable, celebrating or marking a divorce in some way hasn't kept up.

10:17 Kiwi startup develops world's first brain sensor implant

A world first device developed by a New Zealand start-up is set to be a game changer in the medical world.

Kitea Health has just started a trial of the first fully implantable brain pressure sensor, by successfully implanting one in a patient in Auckland. 

Professor Simon Malpas is Kitea Health co-founder and joins Emile Donovan.

He is also speaking at a free event in Auckland.

Kiwi film director Ant Timpson picks the music on the Mixtape this week.

Ant founded the Incredibly Strange Film Festival and the 48 Hours film competition. He's worked on 80s feature films like Queen City Rocker, and produced The ABCs of Death series, Deathgasm, comedy horror The Greasy Strangler, and Turbo Kid, winning a Saturn Award for Best International Film among numerous awards.

In 2019, Ant directed his debut feature film Come to Daddy which has become a cult hit, and has collaborated again with co-writer Toby Harvard and actor Elijah Wood for his brand new film Bookworm

He talks life, music and his new film.
