Our Own Odysseys - Mangaia

Dr Paul Beumelburg spent time on Mangaia, that's where he went to to do his PhD research into education and mixing the best of local teaching with the best western techniques. Mangaia is the most southern raised coral atoll of the Cook Islands group with a population of just 700. It is said to be the oldest in the Pacific at an estimated 18 million years.
