The Facebook outage which brought businesses to a halt

Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram went down around the world from 5 o'clock this morning, hindering trading for some businesses completely reliant on it. Facebook apologised for the outage and say no user data was compromised, but there are increasing numbers of businesses who only operate on Facebook, and some have been victims of denial of service cyber attacks and struggled to reconnect with their customers.
