The Shanghai Mimi band will be bringing a slice of 1930s Shanghai to Auckland this weekend as they perform two shows as part of the Auckland Live Cabaret Season.
Led by beguiling frontwoman Sophie Koh, the group blends together Chinese folk and American jazz fusion in shidaiqu - or "songs of the era" - from a city where musicians from every corner of the world lived and worked.
