Filmmaker and composer John Carpenter is known to many as of Masters of the Horror. His notable works include cult classics Halloween, The Thing, and They Live. Carpenter's father was a music teacher, sparking his early interest in making music. This interest played a major role in his career: he composed the music to most of his films.
