A leading proponent of the art of bonsai in Aotearoa, Joy Morton has been working with the tiny trees for 54 years. her Dunedin backyard and shed are home to more than 100 trees, some of which are decades old.

Joy is currently attending the ninth World Bonsai Convention, a virtual get-together of bonsai practioners around the globe who shared their techniques and dive into panel discussions.

Joy is also a founding member of the The Otago Bonsai Society, which is holding an exhibition at Dunedin Community Gallery until 24 October.
