Remembering the doyenne of romantic comedies: Nora Ephron

From Nights, 10:18 pm on 14 May 2024

On this week, 83 years ago, American filmmaker Nora Ephron was born.

A writer and director, she is best known for her films When Hally Met Sally (1989), You've Got Mail (1998), and Sleepless in Seattle (1993).

She died in 2012, aged 71, from a rare blood disorder, but remains an influential figure in comedy and in broader Hollywood.

Kristin Marguerite Doidge is a journalist based in Los Angeles, California, and the author of the definitive biography of the late great Nora Ephron, Nora Ephron: A Biography.

She joins Emile Donovan to reflect on Ephron's legacy.
