What's in a name? A sociolinguist weighs in

From Nights, 9:15 pm on 4 July 2024

Our parents often put a lot of thought into choosing them for us and many of us hear our own ones daily for the rest of our lives.

But our names do more than refer to us. They tell us about our families, the societies we live in, how others see us and how we see ourselves.

Our resident sociolinguist Dr Julia de Bres joins Emile Donovan.
