Storm clouds are gathering over Wellington City Council, with the local government minister announcing he is taking advice on whether to intervene.
Last Thursday, the Council failed to get an important airport shares sale over the line, meaning it will have to go and revise its long-term plan.
The 2022 council term has been marred by division and has been called a "shambles" by finance minister Nicola Willis.
Simeon Brown says he is seeking official advice on what action should be taken.
