Letitia 'Teesh' Dowie-Lewis has opened her doors and arms to children she doesn't know over sixty times.
Based in Hamilton, she is the recipient of Excellence in Foster Care award for 2025, a title from Governor General Cindy Kiro.
With only half an hour's notice, and a brief bio of the child, Letitia has been known to set up bedrooms for new kids, complete with anything they need for them be as comfortable as they can during a scary transition.
She joins Maggie Tweedie.
