09:05 The price of digital technology in schools
Wellington Girls' College principal Julia Davidson, whose school spends $750,000 on IT a year, of which $40,000 is funded by the Government. The education and science select committee's inquiry into 21st century learning released last month made 48 recommendations including that every child should have access to a digital device in school; and Mark Brown, Education professor at Massey University.

The Great Diary Project has been set up to provide a permanent home for unwanted diaries. The project began with Irving Finkel's private collection of about 1,500 diaries and is inviting members of the public to augment the London-based archive by depositing their own or their relatives' diaries in it.
