ACC says between 2012 and 2016 there was an almost 90 per cent increase in new sensitive claims lodged for male victims of sexual abuse. It's prompted renewed calls for a public apology and independent inquiry into the alleged historic abuse of children in state care. The Labour party pledged to establish such an inquiry in its first 100 days in office. Kathryn Ryan speaks with the manager of the Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Trauma Trust, Ken Clearwater, and Professor Patrick O'Leary, Expert Academic Advisor to the Australian Royal Commission of Inquiry.

Christmas shopping season is on the horizon, and a new social enterprise being established aims to simplify giving, help good causes, and reduce waste. The Good Registry is an online community where people who already feel they have too many things in their lives, can say to friends and family "no gifts please", instead asking them to give simply a charity, via the platform. Co-founder Christine Langdon talks to Kathryn about how the social enterprise came about, and the pledge me  campaign in its final stages, aiming to raise $20 thousand to help build the platform.

10:05 Impressions of a favourite model: Catherine Hewitt on Renoir's Dancer

Specialist in 19th century art and literature, British author Catherine Hewitt talks about her new book Renoir's Dancer: the Secret Life of Suzanne Valadon.  Suzanne is said to be Pierre-Auguste Renoir's favourite model.  She's the young woman in the red bonnet in Renoir's Dance at Bougival (1883), and the woman in the white satin ballgown in his Dance in the City (1883).  She's also the subject of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's The Hangover (1887-89).  But Suzanne was more than just an artist's muse. She was a respected artist in her own right.  Catherine Hewitt tells Kathryn Ryan how this essentially is the age-old story of a woman muscling-in on a male dominated world, the late 19th century Paris art scene.
