09:05 What to do about teeth grinding and jaw clenching

Dentists say they're seeing more patients who grind or clench their teeth. Also known as bruxism, the condition happens unconsciously, usually when people are asleep, and can lead to teeth being ground-down, nerves exposed, as well as jaw and headaches. So what is the main cause and how can bruxism be treated? Susie speaks with Dr Mo Amso,  a dentist and Chief Executive of the New Zealand Dental Association and Wellingtonian Olivia Hope-Simcock who has experienced bruxism for the last few years.

09:30 Medicinal cannabis scheme: How's it working two years on?

It's more than two years since the law changed to allow medicinal cannabis products to be prescribed in New Zealand - so is the scheme working as intended? The Ministry of Health lists 17 medicinal cannabis products that meet the minimum quality standards for use - and one  that has the tick from Medsafe as an approved medicine. Earlier this year Nubu Pharmaceuticals became the first company to be able to import dried cannabis flower - both for use in a vapouriser and in preparation as a tea. Its CEO Mark Dye joins Susie to explain the challenges it getting it approved. But are there still barriers for people seeking medicinal cannabis products? Dr Ali Seyfoddin at AUT runs the only medicinal cannabis course in the country, and says the regulations are too restrictive.

After a tense few days of build up, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has departed Taiwan and continues her Asia travels, while China has started live-fire military drills off the coast in retaliation to her visit. In Singapore, the pace of executions is ramping up. Six people have been executed so far this year, including an intellectually disabled man. Rights activists say another seven prisoners have already received execution notices. And tourism workers in Indonesia are striking after a hike in ticket prices for visitors of Komodo dragons. The fee has rocketed up to around $400 NZ.

In 1944, a young Slovakian man achieved the near impossible; he escaped Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Having witnessed the atrocities occurring at the Nazi camp, Walter Rosenberg was determined to warn the world of the horrors taking place, and spur global leaders into action. But to his dismay, the detailed report he compiled was met with disbelief, lethargy and inaction. The desperate and important tale of Walter Rosenberg, who became known as Rudolf Vrba after his escape, has been told in new detail by journalist Jonathan Freedland. Jonathan Freedland is a Guardian columnist and former foreign correspondent, and the presenter of BBC Radio 4's history series, The Long View. He's also writes thrillers under the pen name Sam Bourne. His new book is The Escape Artist: The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz to Warn the World, and is so unbelievable and well paced, you might almost think it was a work of fiction.
