Fighting tooth decay with fluoride varnish

Nine to Noon hears from two District Health Boards which have begun painting fluoride varnish onto childrens' teeth, to fight decay - with positive results so far. Dental decay is the biggest cause of preventable hospital admissions, with nearly 6500 children and adolescents needing surgery under general anaesthetic in the 2013/2014 year - the most recent available period.
