Historians and genealogists say the work that they do could be severely impacted by proposed changes at the National Library and Archives New Zealand. The National Library is trying to re-home its overseas published collections, and Archives NZ is seeking to halve its reading room hours from March. Is this a sign of the digital-times, with more records and books being available online? What impact will it have on those who rely on records for research?
