Sea freight industry targets 28 day visa rule

Overly onerous visa applications are hammering international bulk shipping, for which the New Zealand economy relies upon for trade within the world, say leaders in the sea freight industry.

They are calling for change and with mounting congestion at ports around the country, they say the situation is becoming more urgent.

Billy Preston chairs the national body representing shipping agents, Shipping New Zealand.

He also talks to Kathryn Ryan about the impact of Covid-19 on his industry
