Newly graduated University of Auckland student Bethany Forsythe has gone straight from campus to a job overseas identifying war casualties.

Dr Forsythe graduated earlier this month with a PhD in Forensic Science.

She is now in the Netherlands working with a team at the International Commission for Missing Persons.

The focus is to work on identifying human remains, including the more than 300 thousand people still missing from the Vietnam war.
