A proposal to radically revamp New Zealand Rugby's governance structure has failed to be approved.
It would have had nine independently elected members on the board of NZR. The vote for that was 31 for and 59 against.
Instead, the provincial unions have reached a two-thirds majority vote for their proposal - that at least three board members must have had past experience on one of their boards. The vote was 69-21 in favour for that.
RNZ sports reporter Barry Guy has been following the vote.
