Auckland council begins developing a Local Alcohol Policy

One of the changes in the liquor control legislation passed in December 2012 gave local councils the power to set their own rules on the number, location and hours of liquor outlets - both on and off license. This part of the legislation has been welcomed by many communities. Angela Dalton is chairwoman of the Manurewa Local Board, and George Wood is an Auckland City councillor and chair of the working party formulating the Local Alcohol Policy for Auckland.
