Iron & Wine represents the musical output of Sam Beam. The South Carolina-born singer-songwriter first gained notoriety in 2002 when Seattle's Sub Pop label released an album of Beam's homemade lo-fi recordings. Since then Beam has expanded Iron & Wine's musical palatte including more instrumentation and incorporating elements of Latin, psychedelia, jazz and calypso. Meanwhile Beam's soothing voice and poetry remains a constant. Iron & Wine's new album is entitled Ghost On Ghost.
