Marty Duda's artist of the week - Erykah Badu
Erykah Badu emerged during the late 1990s along with other neo-soul divas such as Macy Gray and Jill Scott. Her debut album, Baduism drew comparisons to Billie Holiday, but since then she has established herself as a unique artist with her own voice, incorporating elements of jazz, soul and hip-hop, along with song strong political opinions. She is scheduled to perform at Auckland's Civic Theatre in April.
