The stories of Yorkshire vet James Herriot, real name Alf Wight, remain favourites of generations of people who've read the books and seen the long running TV series All Creature Great and Small. The Skeldale vet surgery where the stories were based does exist, in the Yorkshire village of Thirsk, and it's now home to a museum. The surgery has moved to a new site and the new vets have brought Thirsk back into the international limelight with a TV series called The Yorkshire Vet. Lynn Freeman talks with Julian Norton who helms the series.
