Shifting Grounds

The hearse carrying the coffin of Sir John Logan Campbell to his grave on the summit of Maungakiekie in 1912. Thousands of people lined the streets to watch the funeral procession, which began at Campbell’s home, ‘Kilbryde’, in Parnell and proceeded along Manukau Road to Maungakiekie.
