Suranga Nanayakkara - Assistive Augmentation
A hands free mobile is one thing but with latest innovations in technology, you may be able to answer calls by biting. It's called ChewIt, a device the size of a piece of chewing gun, which allows you to answer the phone simply by biting down on it. ChewIt has been developed by a Masters of Engineering student in the Augmented Human Lab team at the University of Auckland's Bioengineering Institute. The student was supervised by Associate Professor Suranga Nanayakkara who tells Kathryn about a range of assistive augmentation devices.
