Previously isolated, former refugees from the Burmese community are now Home Based Educators, trained by the Pacifica community in Porirua. The Pacifica and Burmese communities have teamed up under a programme called Etu Ao Homebased Learning and they are operating in Porirua under the guidance of He Whanau Manaaki, Wellington Kindergartens.
