Pavan Sukhdev is the founder and CEO of GIST Advisory, a specialist consulting firm which helps governments and corporations discover, measure, value, and manage their impacts on natural and human capital, and a Visiting Fellow at Yale University, where he was awarded the 2011 McCluskey Fellowship and wrote his book Corporation 2020: Transforming Business for Tomorrow’s World (Island Press, ISBN: 978-1-61091-238-9). He was Study Leader for the G8+5 commissioned project The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme, and was a keynote speaker at a two-day conference in Wellington, Making Nature Count – The Economy and the Environment, organised by the Department of Conservation and Victoria University, in July 2013.

Evan Brenton-Rule is studying biology and law at Victoria University, and is the winner of the second Sir Paul Callaghan Award for Young Science Orators, announced at the 2013 Eureka! Symposium. His presentation was Invasive Species Management: Pulling the Wings Off Wasps.

Ted Dawe is the inaugural winner of the New Zealand Post Margaret Mahy Children’s Book of the Year for his novel, Into the River (Mangakino University Press, ISBN: 978-0-47320-508-9), which also won him the 2013 Young Adult Fiction Award. It is a prequel to his first novel, Thunder Road, which won the Young Adult Fiction and Best First Book award in 2004.

Graeme Simsion was born in Auckland and is a Melbourne-based business consultant and writer of short stories, plays, screenplays and two non-fiction books. His first novel, The Rosie Project (Text Publishing, ISBN: 978-1-922-07977-0), began life as a screenplay, winning the Australian Writers Guild Inception Award for Best Romantic Comedy before being adapted into a novel. It went on to win the 2012 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an unpublished manuscript and has since been sold around the world to over thirty countries in deals approaching two million dollars.

New Zealand singer Lorde has the number three single (Royals) on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and has topped the Billboard Digital Sales chart. In New Zealand, her singles Team, Royals, and Tennis Court sit at number three, five and 18 respectively, and The Love Club EP is number two on the album chart. Her debut album, Pure Heroine, has just been released.
