Arapata Tamati Hakiwai, of Rongowhakaata, Ngati Kahungunu, Ngāti Porou and Ngāi Tahu descent, is the Kaihautū at Te Papa Tongarewa, leading Mātauranga Māori and the museum's engagement with iwi.
