Ghanaian-British architect Sir David Adjaye was knighted this year for “being one of the leading architects of his generation and a global cultural ambassador for the UK".

Sir David has an impressive portfolio. In 2005, he inserted the Nobel Peace Center in a disused Oslo railway station, and in 2007 completed the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. In 2016, his US$500 million Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture opened in Washington, DC.
