A major route out of Lebanon's capital, Beirut has been hit overnight.

This week, Israeli forces engaged in face to face combat with Hezbollah fighters for the first time in the conflict.

Israel has inflicted huge damage on Hezbollah's infrastructure and leadership in response to a rocket campaign the group launched over the war on Gaza.

Many fear a wider-regional conflict, as the world waits for Israel's response to this weeks strikes - by Hezbollah ally, Iran.
