While many people may know Gina Chick as the first ever winner of the survival reality TV show Alone Australia, her life story is full of dips and turns that started long before she entered the competition.
Her memoir We Are The Stars traces her childhood as a self-described "strange child" extremely in tune with nature, to the heartbreak and tragedy that followed after the death of her beloved daughter.
Mihi spoke to Gina about what she's learned about life and embracing grief.
