US urges restraint

The United States has urged Israel to ensure the safety of UN peacekeepers after Israel fired on UN bases in Lebanon this week, injuring two peacekeepers.

Israel has continued its bombardment of Lebanon and Gaza - sustaining rocket fire from Hamas and Hezbollah in turn.

All while the world waits to see how Israel will respond to a recent-rocket attack by Iran.

Mihi spoke to Negar Mortazavi, a senior fellow at the Center for International Policy in Washington DC.
