As General Director of leading international art fair FIAC in Paris since 2010, Jennifer Flay is a New Zealander playing an important role in the contemporary art world. Jennifer left New Zealand for France 36 years ago to study art history staying on to work in dealer galleries, including running her own during a resurgence in the French art scene in the 1990s.She became the Artistic Director of FIAC in 2003. Since she took over as General Manager the fair has had a resurgence and is again one of the world's leading art fairs. Jennifer was back in New Zealand this week to receive a Kea World Class New Zealand Award - recognising her outstanding contribution as an expat to the world of fine arts. She spoke to Mark Amery about the changes in the French art scene over the last 40 years and New Zealanders role in it, including Paris-based new expat artist web publishing platform Contemporary Hum.
