Ave by Ufitia Sagapolutele, an emotional work centred on the passing of her mother, is part of the Wahine Toa short works programme. All of the works in this programme have been created by female choreographers, showing on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 June at the Mangere Arts Centre from 8pm.
Dancer and choreographer Joash Fahitua will present two works at the Pacific Dance Festival. Muamua (pictured) and Keeping The Faith are two of the five dances that complete the short works Tamatoa programme, all created by male choreographers, showing on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June at the Mangere Arts Centre from 8pm. Two dancers from the New Zealand School of Dance Tū Move programme will travel to Auckland from Wellington for the Tamatoa short works showcase. Connor Masseurs and Toa Paranihi will perform a duet choreographed by Victoria Colombus, showing on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June at the Mangere Arts Centre from 8pm.
