Preparation is underway across the Tasman for a group of female veterans set to embark on an extraordinary adventure - retracing the steps of one of our most celebrated war heroes, Nancy Wake.
Nancy was born in Wellington in 1912, and became a prominent member of the French resistance during World War Two.
The daring and brave young woman helped thousands of allied servicemen and Jewish refugees escape occupied France.
One of her most incredible missions is being re-traced by the group of Australian veterans, among them, Liz Wheeler - a former member of the Australian Defence Force.
