ACC is today beginning a campaign aimed at making themselves more accessible to Maori, who are less likely overall, to make injury claims than non-Maori.
That is despite Maori, overall, being involved in high-risk industries, like forestry.
Maori are far more likely to have a serious, life-changing injury than non-Maori and in the last five years, the average serious injury claim rate has been 57 percent higher for Maori than non- Maori.
However, for minor claims, Maori are severely underrepresented.
ACC's Chief Customer Officer Emma Powell, spoke with Leigh-Marama McLachlan.
