Serial rapist and now-convicted murderer Malcolm Rewa is taking his case to the Court of Appeal next month.
He was given a life sentence for the 1992 murder of Susan Burdett last year after a jury found him guilty of bludgeoning the woman to death in her South Auckland home.
Rewa's sentencing was thought to be the final chapter in a case that spanned decades - and seen the wrongful conviction and incarceration of Teina Pora.
Former police officer turned private investigator Tim McKinnel and New Zealand Herald journalist Phil Taylor were both instrumental in establishing Mr Pora's innocence.
They spoke to Logan Church.
