The new head of Southern Response has admitted the organisation has not treated some Canterbury earthquake claimants as well as it should have, and has offered an apology.
RNZ has tried for months to interview the Southern Response chief executive, or its senior managers, but all of those requests have been declined - until now.
In Southern Response HQ in Christchurch, a small team of three are left to handle the cases Southern Response are still fighting in court - 30 cases in the High Court as well as the Dodds' appeal and a class action.
The new head of Southern Response and that team is Casey Hurren.
