Public Service Announcements
In a world of endless spin, alternative facts, post-truth influencers and conspiracy theorists, it's getting so you don't know who to believe any more. Usually that doesn't matter much. "Don't believe any of them" is a pretty good rule of thumb. But coming up to an election, you need someone to cut through the smoke and mirrors. That's the job of a hard-nosed satirist, and in an election year satire is pretty much a Public Service. Literally in this case. Aotearoa's longest-running live satire show Public Service Announcements has been showing at Wellington's Circa Theatre over 5 election cycles and 18 productions. And I'm joined by co-founder of PSA Anya Tate-Manning... long-time member, actor-writer and Edinburgh Fringe sensatiion Johanna Cosgrove... and PSA newbie and former Maori Side Step, Jamie McCaskill.
